Metaverse

The metaverse is a collective virtual shared space, created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space, including the sum of all virtual worlds, augmented realities, and the internet. The term was coined by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash, in which it referred to a virtual reality space that users could enter using a headset. More recently, the term has been used to refer to the concept of a virtual shared space where people can interact with each other and with virtual objects and environments in real-time.
